His ego would be the thing in the end
Unfortunately for us, Terry's ego is not just "the thing", 'tis "the only thing". The rest of it is vintage Terry bullshit as well but I'll let one of the Nats lurking around here fisk that :)
Update: except this bit:
to hell with democracy
Terry, love them or loath them, the SNP were democratically elected to run the teeny-weeny-Parly and, as far as I can see, are not the ones who have offended agin the rules of our democratic process (that would be Wendy, by the way.) Elected against Scottish Labour, you may recall and, unlike them *, refusing all coalition partners. You are an utter cnut.
* Yes, I know, they have just changed their rules - but not concerning the national Government / Executive / Chimps' Tea Party at Holy Rood.

Was blogging as applied planetary engineering early in the year. Which was Scotland: Worlds first ecological superpower (Scot ESP). Advised to set up a company, went to set up Scot ESP Ltd, someone liked it and took it. Fuming I went Alba ESP (too much Runrig), then Celtic ESP. Then a thought hit me. Yes Alex had left Celtic Lion Ltd unregistered at Companies House. Anyway my mothers Scottish, fathers Welsh and I was born in August, Celtic Lion it was. Thanks Alex, it's lovely name, hope I can do it justice.
So I sent some comments on Terry's site on the post you refer to. But he hasn't authorised them. They seem sensible and relevant. So I'll put them here if thats OK.
I find the entire development and issues surrounding it uncomfortable. In 2002 DEFRA recommended me to the UK Cabinet Office to advise on the sustainable development aspect of the UKs legislative process involving Regulatory Impact Assessment.
I am looking at this development in terms of localised economic, social and environmental factors.
These relatively short term, in an overall strategy for Scotland, set against global trends and development.
What may only result in a short term local gain for the North East in the economic factor, offset by a loss in social and environmental areas could result in a loss across economic, social and environmental factors for Scotland as a whole in a long term strategy.
The dragging down of Scotland, as a whole, affecting the North East and negating any benefits they think they may achieve.
The complexities of full sustainable development seem to have been ignored in the rush for the ‘quick fix’ $
Very worrying.

Roger,
Scottish politicians are physically and emotionally incapable of being "sensible and relevant". Even the good ones are only marginally more responsive to the needs of their constituents than fresh-water clams are to the football results.
you have a way with a phrase I've been chuckling all night how you got from Scottish politicians to fresh water clams and football results
