Terry In The Papers (Again)

There I was feet up reading the Herald when my eye alighted on the words that have done so much to provide the Scottish people with laughs in recent years. I am of course referring to Terry Kelly.

It seems Terry is less than impressed with the 2007 election campaign -maybe his failure to vote was a protest!

Here is his contribution in full; 'Terry Kelly as election agent for Wendy Alexander noted that some aspects of the campaign run well others were fairly shambolic (sic). It was noted that there were problems co-ordinating the campaigns between Paisley North and South and that measures need to be introduced now to prevent this hampering future campaigns.'

Naturally Terry claims he was misquoted -something that could be easily cleared up by releasing the correct minutes of the meeting he was speaking at when he didn't utter the above remarks.
Sadly I have not been blessed with the ability to see into the future but I suspect anyone holding their breath for Terry's minutes will be long dead before we're any further forward. After all why should a councillor explain feel compelled to explain himself to the common herd.

Question Time for Wendy

Everyone take a visit here. The BBC are looking for questions to submit to Wendy Alexander. Here is my submission, bet they won't ask her it:

Your former election agent, Cllr Terry Kelly, is a controversial figure on the internet thanks to his blog including borderline views on Americans, Israelis and his support for Hamas terrorists. His Labour colleague in the ward (and former CLP chairman), Cllr Tommy Williams, has been fired from his job at Glasgow City Council for fraud and is the subject of a police investigation, a former councillor was suspended by the party before the last election over allegations of improper sexual conduct most recently reported in a criminal case and several members of the council have been reported to the Standards Commission for irregularities in their expense claims.

Is it not time that you, as the most senior member of the Labour Party in Renfrewshire orders a complete reformation of this organisation to root out what appear to the voter to be endemic corruption, sleaze and the sense of arrogant unaccountability.

Fun with Facts (or - How Terry is just a brainless clown)

It irritates me when brainless lefties bleat about how Israel is exterminating the Palestinians or that they are engaged in "genocide" against the same. It annoys me because it should be immediately obvious to everyone that a) the Israelis have one of the best armed forces in the world and very few people fuck with them on even a semi-regular basis and b) this so called genocide has been going on for 50 years.

I mean even I (with my limited understanding of mechanised slaughter on an industrial scale) could devise a way to wipe out 1.5m people from an area the size of Washington DC. A good 2 weeks of napalm carpet bombing followed by line abreast dragnet by tank supported by half-tracks filled with machine gun wielding troops would be my opening bid.

So how do we support this idea that leftie idiots like Terry are talking out their arses (apart from the fact that Terry is talking)? Lets look at some facts shall we:

Death Rates
0.0034% Gaza
0.00617% Israel
0.01009% UK

Population Growth
3.66% Gaza
1.15% Israel
0.2% UK

Infant Mortality
0.0218% Gaza
0.0067% Israel
0.0050% UK

So what does that tell us? From a 3rd world country we expect a high Infant Mortality rate but look at the other two numbers. If you are the Israeli general in charge of Genocide then you should resign now - the people you are trying to wipe from the face of the earth are actually growing faster than your own side. How bloody incompetent are you?

And with a lower death rate in Gaza than in either Israel or the UK (and as a fully formed adult) I would actually stand a better chance of not being killed in the middle of an alleged holocaust.

One other thing. Life Expectancy for a man in the Gaza Strip at birth is a little over 70 years. In the slum East End of Glasgow (Labour have held power there for about 100 years without interruption) the life expectancy of a male child born a year ago, according to NHS figures, is 59 years (that would be 6 years short of mandatory retirement age, tough break).

I should be able to get a huge mansion over there at the moment. Certainly seems safer than staying here.

So in conclusion Terry - shut up with your idiotic received wisdom, yet again a little thought would have saved you from looking like a clown. Is there a war going on? Yes. Is it a genocide? Not by any measure currently employed by any sentient being anywhere else in this universe.

It seemed like a simple question...

It is generally accepted (although historically inaccurate) that Goering once said "whenever I hear the word 'culture' I reach for my revolver" [other variations exist].

Terry wrote this in his blog attacking the local SNP budget that will close underused libraries:

"Years ago there was another famous nationalist who said "when I hear the word culture I reach for my revolver" his ideas seem to be thriving in Renfrewshire under the SNP."

So my question to him was quite a simple one: Does he equate the minor alteration of a £300m local government budget with the systematic extermination of the Jews? I mean, what he has done in this post is simply try the old socialist trick of shouting "worse than Hitler" at any idea that he is ideologically opposed to but cannot intellectually form a coherent argument against.

So I have reverted to Paxman mode and continually asked that question. Any decent, right-thinking, civilised honest person would take less than 0.001 of a second to realise the answer is "No, I don't think closing a library is like gassing Jews, gays and Catholics" but Terry continues to squirm.

He attempted to smear his political opponents in his typical style. Try to attack him on it and he will say "but I never called them Nazis" and he would be right. But he relies on the rest of us letting him away with innuendo. We have to make people like him face the full weight of their words and deeds. In the past he has shrugged off "thatcher to burn in hell" and "women are thick" as jokes. Maybe he will try it again this time. But he has to now recognize that he is responsible for what he says and if he does not mean something he should make it clear he is joking. Mind you, how acceptable would a jew with a serial number on their arm find a smiley after his statement above? Some things you just don't joke about.

The fact that Terry has spurned a lot of chances to say "no" to my question now means that he does in fact equate the industrialised slaughter of millions of human beings with the tinkering of a budget by a centre-left political party he does not approve of.

This is disgusting. The Labour Council group now need to suspend him pending an investigation and the people of Ferguslie Park need to now have a long hard look at this collection. They are represented on the council by a man feathering his own nest from public money and a man who trivialises the Holocaust to score cheap political points.

I have this feeling that trivialising the Holocaust may be a criminal offence somewhere? Am I right or did I just make this up out of hope?
